Aretha

Is there anything better than Aretha Franklin singing Freedom? I was just watching the Blues Brothers (one of a few movies that require stopping all else to watch. Others include Stripes, Raising Arizona, most John Hughes movies from the ’80s and Office Space.) I was thinking that if I ever had another daughter I’d name her Aretha. Aretha Franklin Jaggers. Scary, huh?

This is week two in the home office. What happened last week? you may ask. I went to St. Louis for five days and four nights and worked like a dog. I also saw some friends (which I said I wouldn’t do) and family (which was necessary) but mostly worked like a dog. It was great, and another plus of this gig because I could take the week and be as workaholic as I wanna be without having to pick up kids, make dinner, be home on time, etc. Then, I travel back home (it’s a seven hour trip with two flights and a layover) and return to my home office where I can really get things done.

So I’m getting into the swing of things in my new hometown. Yes, it felt like home when I came back and yes, I think I’m starting to accept that I’m really here to stay.

As good as Aretha Franklin is, she ain’t Bruce Springsteen singing “Born to Run.”
