Poor Clover

Poor Clover is sick. When we picked him up from the kennel a week ago his eyes were crusty and matted. They looked better, then they looked worse. Over the weekend, I noticed his ear was tender and goopy. After a trip to the vet, he’s got ointments, drops and lots of pills.
My hypoallergenic dog has allergies. In fact, I think he’s allergic to dogs.
Poor Clover.

What a beautiful dog. I should recognize that breed, but I can’t put my finger on it.
Gosh, and he looks so pooped out and sick too. You are breaking my heart.

People ask so often I thought it was worth addressing here - C. Lover (as he’s known on the streets), is a soft-coated Wheaten terrier. Yes he’s soft. Yes he’s wheat colored. His middle name is Horatio. He does not shed at all, ever and so needs a hair cut once in awhile, otherwise he looks a lot like Richard Simmons and we’re tempted to buy him tiny satin shorts. Clover joined our family on St. Patrick’s Day, thus the Irish name. People often think he’s a girl and that really pisses him off.

I would think that he caught something from one (or more) of the other animals at the Kennel. I guess the kennel doesn’t require health certification before they board an animal?
You’re a better person than I. I’d be wicked mad at the kennel, and they would be getting my vet bill.
And he’s a beautiful dog.

Cool! We also have a Wheaten, named Riley.
