More morbid history lessons from Mom
Tonight, the boy and I discussed both Jim Jones and David Koresh. I think it’s important to know where the phrase “drinking the Kool-aid” comes from if one is going to use it. I’m definitely on a morbid pop culture history lesson kick with my kids. They’re not going to learn about this stuff at school, and if their friends don’t remember these fascinating facts, that’s where I come in.
I’m the Edgar Allen Poe of my neighborhood.
Tomorrow night, over dinner, I’ll tell them about the Donner Party.

Hilarious! But essential!
I am really enjoying your blog. Sometimes I feel like I am the only working mother in the world (self-pity parties are so fun),so this is totally refreshing.
Most of my historical knowledge came from my dad, who always had his personal spin on things - a legacy I will never forget!
