Spring Break Soundtrack
Did you know that EVERYONE ELSE went somewhere on Spring Break? Did you know that EVERYONE BUT US has gone to Florida (Hi Sarabeth!), Jamaica or Europe? Someone even went on a CRUISE. And WHERE are WE going? HARRISONBURG?! This is not a VACATION. WHY can’t WE go somewhere? I know, why don’t we check into the OMNI downtown and PRETEND we’ve gone somewhere?

It does help that we have a FREE place to stay while we are in Florida that is, like, right on the beach.
Poor, Girl. I never went anywhere on Spring Break either. But, I did live in Florida, so why would I need to go anywhere?

It’s not even the free lodging — if we’d planned ahead at ALL we could have borrowed timeshare somewhere from the g’parents. It’s just that it didn’t even occur to us. Vacation? Not in Summer? Unheard of where we come from (don’t know why). Also we have this nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic that results in unused vacation time. We don’t relax well.
We are, however, taking the kids to Williamsburg (I know, but we haven’t been) and New York in June. So there. Next year I plan to plot a Spring Break escape, though. She’s right, it kind of sucks being the only ones in town.
