I'll admit that prior to this photo, I did straighten up a bit; e.g., took out the trash, found another spot to store the paper packages sitting on the guest desk and filed some of the paperwork that had been sitting on my credenza and desk for awhile. But generally, I do try to keep it neat. I can't work if I'm distracted by mess. It's kind of like my kitchen -- I can't cook or bake until I've cleaned up, first. Now, the house is another story. Don't get me wrong, St. Louis is beautiful, but I can't smell dirt. I see lots of squirrels, some come right up to the window. Also, there is a gorgeous blue heron that visits the pond and has just returned after being away for the summer. It's darn near impossible to get a photo of that bird, but I'm on a mission.
