Beds in Which I Slept: 2007
In no particular order:
- My own lovely oak (maple?) sleigh bed
- The guest bed at my in-laws
- On an air mattress in my parents’ livingroom
- On a couch in my parents’ livingroom
- On a bed in my parents’ house (I got upgraded!)
- The futon in the basement of my in-laws (I was lower on the guest chain than the guests they already had)
- A king-sized bed in a condo in Williamsburg, Va.
- A full-sized bed in my Aunt Joan’s basement
- At a Embassy Suites in downtown Orlando
- At a Country Inn and Suites in uptown Orlando
- In a hotel room at Bally’s, Las Vegas
- At the Drury Inn on Olive in St. Louis
- At a Doubletree hotel in Elizabeth, New Jersey
Goal for 2008: Less sleeping around!

Other than the one or two college dorm rooms I slept in and the bed I now sleep in in St. Louis, a guest room at my friend’s house in Michigan, a hotel room in Chicago, two Parisian hostels, a hostel in Cork, Ireland, a hostel in Dublin, Ireland, a wooden bench in an ex-pat bookstore in Paris, a red-eye coach seat to Paris, a friend’s house in St. Louis, a friend’s house in St. Charles, a hotel room in Rolla before a float trip, a hotel room in The Netherlands, a red-eye coach seat to The Netherlands and a hotel room in Jamaica. I think that about covers it.

I’ve slept on everything from a normal mattress to a bare floor. It’s odd, but I actually enjoy going over a friends house and hitting the air mattress. Oddly enough, I find it rather comfortable.
