I've slept on everything from a normal mattress to a bare floor. It's odd, but I actually enjoy going over a friends house and hitting the air mattress. Oddly enough, I find it rather comfortable.

Other than the one or two college dorm rooms I slept in and the bed I now sleep in in St. Louis, a guest room at my friend's house in Michigan, a hotel room in Chicago, two Parisian hostels, a hostel in Cork, Ireland, a hostel in Dublin, Ireland, a wooden bench in an ex-pat bookstore in Paris, a red-eye coach seat to Paris, a friend's house in St. Louis, a friend's house in St. Charles, a hotel room in Rolla before a float trip, a hotel room in The Netherlands, a red-eye coach seat to The Netherlands and a hotel room in Jamaica. I think that about covers it.
