I am reminded of the time that my family stopped at Starbuck’s prior to a movie. In the parking lot of the theater, drinking coffee and wasting time goofing around, my husband said, “Do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?” He then produced the most annoying sound in the world while I was simultaneously drinking coffee. Said coffee exited through my nostrils, covered my windshield, stained my pants, and got in my hair. So, I watched the movie wet, stained, nostrils burning, and sticky stinky hair. Then I drove home peering through a windshield stained with mocha.

I actually purposefully place the apostrophe to make it singular, because when I’m wishing a specific mother to have a happy day, I want it to be clear that I’m wishing it for her. . . if that makes any sense. And it probably doesn’t.
