How to Subscribe to a Blog

by marijean on November 11th, 2008

If you are among the 11 percent of the population who have adapted to using RSS, please ignore this post. This post is not for you. Instead, this post is for the 89 percent of people reading stuff on the Internet by going to Web sites, either by actually typing in the URL e.g., www.stlworkingmom.com or going to Google and typing in some portion of the URL to get here. In the case of this blog, I believe that 90 percent of the 89 percent of the people getting here this way are my relatives. (Hi Aunt Jacque!)

THERE IS AN EASIER WAY

If you don’t mind getting an e-mail when I update this Web site, you can subscribe to the content on this blog by entering your e-mail address and other information here on this form. If you subscribe this way, you won’t have to keep returning to this site to see if there’s anything new to read.

If you get ENOUGH e-mail already, and like to read blogs and news, you might consider using a feed reader such as Google Reader or Bloglines. Signing up for an account is free, the service is free and it’s easy to use. Since only 11 percent of the world has adapted this technology, (I actually don’t remember where I saw this statistic and can’t seem to find it, so it’s probably not even remotely accurate), I will trust that if this is the option you choose, you are comfortable enough navigating the Internet to find your own way to subscribing to an RSS feed.

And this concludes today’s lesson on the Internets.

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
