The Girl and the Ribbon

At the end of last summer, the girl started wearing a thin satin ribbon around her neck. The ribbon used to have a couple of beads on it, but somewhere along the line, they disappeared. The girl disdains all types of jewelry. All of it. No rings, bracelets, or necklaces are ever part of her wardrobe. Her ears are not pierced (the very idea makes her shudder) and she has NO interest in ever wearing earrings.

The ribbon appeared, and she wore it all the time, day and night. It drove me a little bit crazy.

I figure when she gets older, and some guy wants to buy her jewelry, he’s in for a treat. She’d rather have some ice cream, a book or a video game.

In the last few weeks the ribbon has disappeared.

She’s an unadorned girl, and adorable in her simplicity. She’s proof that bling isn’t everything.

The Girl is absolutely beautiful & doesn’t need a thing to enhance it. I’m with everyone else in wanting to know what happened to the ribbon & why. Inquiring minds are dying to know! :-)
