Charlottesville Blog of the Week: A Life Less Ordinary

This week’s blog of the week is A Life Less Ordinary, about raising a child with cerebral palsy. I think the most interesting use for the blog, which I learned from blogger and mom Amy Handy, is that the video documentation of Elena’s therapies, progress, milestones and challenges prove to be very helpful when Elena has new teachers, therapists or others in her life who need to fully understand her capabilities. What a time-saver for Elena’s parents when trying to communicate to new educators or medical professionals exactly the challenges Elena faces and has overcome. In addition, the blog provides fresh ideas for other parents raising children with developmental issues, and helps Amy connect with other parents raising children with cerebral palsy.
