Let’s crowdsource the next Blog of the Week, shall we?
I’m looking for an interesting blog to feature Tuesday, Sept. 1 on CBS-19.
The blog needs to be a Charlottesville-area based blog and the blogger must be willing and able to be featured on local television.
So, to recap: Charlottesville blogger; accessible on Sept. 1.
You can self-nominate, but make a good case, because I’m particular.
I’m hoping for a blog that’s interesting; a little out of the ordinary, with a blogger behind the scenes who will make for a good interview.
In case you’d like to review who’s been featured on the Charlottesville Blog of the Week segment thus far, check out our dedicated page on the Newsplex site.
In case you’re too busy to click through, I’m leaning away from featuring real estate agents, photography blogs (at least for awhile; I featured one not long ago), food related blogs (done a bunch of those recently), mommies, corporate blogs (unless they’re awesome) and anything NSFW. Got it?
Fire away in the comments. Can’t wait to see what blogs you guys come up with.

Well, here goes with the self-nomination:
My name’s David Pierce, and I’m a third-year UVA student. I run a blog called The 2.0 Life (http://www.the20life.com), all about how to live and thrive in our increasingly digital world. I started the site because even though there’s all this great stuff available to us online, most people still have no idea how the heck to use it, or even find it. Techies float around words like “cloud,” and “open source,” and “bits,” but most people just wonder why clouds have anything to do with computers.
There are other tech blogs out there, that teach people how to use Web apps, and stuff like that. But they all assume you know (and care) about so many things that are totally irrelevant to most people. I want to be the opposite – obsessed only with things that matter (or should matter) to everyone, and assuming you don’t already know things like RSS, HTML, and all the other ridiculous acronyms.
The incredible things the digital world brings can help us all, whether we’re students, professionals, or hermits – if you know how to use it. I’m trying to help.
I’d love to be Charlottesville’s Blog of the Week, and I’m definitely available September 1. Thanks for checking out my site!

Well that’s a good start – the link should be this one: http://www.the20life.com
Sorry about that
OK, I’ll plug myself (but I like David’s – it’s good). I’m new at blogging, but feel strongly about my mission to help other women, particularly those who are overweight and overwhelmed, gather the courage to get out and take care of themselves. I want them to understand it is not selfish, but in fact, an important act of stewardship for them to take the time to take care of their health. I have a running blog which I hope is entertaining, motivating and provides some practical, real-woman training tips.

I am also trying to help the W4MTP use more social media outlets to connect with the community.
So…who ended up winning?
