I’m Going to BlogHer!
It’s just under a month away, but I’m already starting to hyperventilate. I’m really going to BlogHer! I’ve been to blogger gatherings before, but that was local, and still made me nervous enough to circle the parking lot, debating on whether to actually go in. Now I’ve committed to flying several hundred miles and spending a weekend with a bunch of bloggers. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it.
There are so many people I’m hoping to meet (even though I’m sure I’ll be the blithering blogger all starstruck and whatnot). My BlogHer wish list:
- Dana of Mamalogues – I adore her and as a St. Louis gal, she provides a taste of home. We can talk hoosiers all night long.
- The Sarcastic Journalist — she’s actually speaking at BlogHer, which gives her super celebrity status.
- Sara Fisher, Self-Made Mom — she’s another PR working mom! We have so much in common.
- Blackbird, Say La Vee — she’s on my short list of most admired bloggers of all time. I’m guaranteed to be all woozy idiotic in her presence.
- I’m hoping for an Awkward Hug™ from Melissa of Suburban Bliss.
Oh and so many, many more. Will I see you there?

I learn so much from you. Where else would I learn about a national blogger conference for women? Now…how to convince Chris?

Birthday present? You deserve it! You’d be away 3.5 days. Go for it and let me know what happens.
Does he travel/golf/fish/hunt? This is your gig. You should go.

You are such a good friend, the motivation is helpful- I will keep you posted. (I did recently run a campaign so we are pretty even on the time front).

I’ll do my best — just look up for the freakishly tall woman and chances are, it’s me. I will know you by your adorable shoes.

I haven’t actually committed to going yet, but the thought of talking about hoosiers with you - and NOT having to explain how we’re not discussing the good people of Indiana in disparaging terms - would be worth the trip alone.

And, I’m dying to imitate the “Charlottesville Hoosier” for you (it’s an in-person must as there are facial expressions involved) because I know you’ll love it.

Awww, thanks! I feel as if this will be like Christmas where kids get all overstimulated and end up playing with the boxes. Look for me talking to potted plants.
Can’t wait to meet ya!
